About
Mary Marshall MD, RN, FAAFP
Dr. Mary Marshall acknowledges that her path to becoming a family physician was unconventional. After a successful career as a registered nurse, she made the decision to go to medical school.
“The cardiologist specialists, who inspired me to pursue a career as a family physician, understood the value of primary care and never stopped teaching that.”
She graduated from Michigan State University College of Human Medicine in 1997. After completing residency at Genesys Regional Medical Center in 2000, Dr. Marshall joined a private practice in Fenton, Michigan. In 2004, she returned to Grand Blanc and opened a solo family practice. She moved into her current location at 9400 S Saginaw in 2012.
Among the overarching goals that Dr. Marshall feels are important is to provide each patient with a Medical Home where they can bring problems, questions, hopes, and goals and feel safe to discuss them openly with their family doctor.
Throughout her healthcare career spanning 40 years, Dr. Marshall has been active outside her practice and is a Clinical professor in the Department of Family Medicine at Michigan State University College of Human Medicine. She is an active member of the American Medical Association, Michigan State Medical Society, Genesee County Medical Society, and AAFP/MAFP where she served as MAFP President in 2018-2019 and two terms as president of the Family Medicine Foundation of Michigan 2019-2020 and 2020-2021. She earned the AMP Degree of Fellow in 2019.
Currently she serves as a MAFP Delegate to AAFP’s Congress of Delegates. She is also the Michigan Local Medical Director for Aledade ACO.
In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends and cultivating new hobbies in art and travel.
